DTN Early Word Grains 08/19 05:59 The Key Word is Tentative December corn was 2 cents higher, November soybeans were 2 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was fractionally higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents higher, November soybeans were 2 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was fractionally higher. CME Globex Recap: Grains posted a tentative rally overnight into early Wednesday morning. Soybeans traded lower early before finding light buying interest, while corn and wheat posted narrow 3-cent trading ranges. The U.S. dollar index was down, but could look to rally similar to what was seen Tuesday. Metals and energy markets were mixed. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 33.84 points lower Tuesday at 17,511.34. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei down 331.84 points at 20,222.63. China's Shanghai Composite was up 45.95 points. European markets were lower. The U.S. dollar index was 0.139 lower at 96.901. Crude oil was $0.18 lower at $42.44 while Brent crude was $0.05 higher at $48.86. December gold was $5.30 higher at $1,122.20. Soybeans at the Dalian Exchange were lower while Malaysian palm oil futures were also lower.
