DTN Early Word Grains 08/27 05:57 See-Saw Week Continues December corn was 2 cents higher, November soybeans were 11 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents higher, November soybeans were 11 cents higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: Global markets, most notably Asian stock markets, rebounded overnight with most sectors showing solid gains. Grains continued their see-saw week with early Thursday morning erasing some of Wednesday's sell-off. The U.S. dollar index was higher again, extending its impressive rally off this past Monday's low. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 619.07 points higher Wednesday at 16,285.51. DJIA futures were 213 points higher. Asian markets were higher with the Nikkei up 197.61 points at 18,574.44 while China's Shanghai Composite was up 156.30 points (5.3%). European markets were also higher. The U.S. dollar index was 0.312 higher at 95.412. Crude oil was $1.63 higher at $40.23 while Brent crude was $1.68 higher at $44.82. December gold was $3.40 higher at $1,128.000. Soybeans at the Dalian Exchange were lower while Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
