DTN Early Word Grains 09/03 05:55 Grains Mostly Lower Early Thursday December corn was 1 cent lower, November soybeans were 1 cent higher, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 1 cent lower, November soybeans were 1 cent higher, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: DJIA futures are trying to recover some of Tuesday's losses early Wednesday. However, the move looks to be nothing more than a normal "dead cat bounce. Grain contracts were quietly lower, pressured in part by a rally in the U.S. dollar index. Crude oil continues to give back some of Monday's strong rally. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 293.03 points higher Wednesday at 16,351.38. DJIA futures were 66 points higher. Asian markets were mostly higher with the Nikkei up 86.99 points at 18,182.39 while China's Shanghai Composite was down 6.46 points. European markets were higher. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.022 at 95.843. Crude oil was $0.16 lower at $46.09 while Brent crude was $0.29 lower at $50.21. December gold was $4.30 lower at $1,129.20. The Dalian Exchange was closed while Malaysian palm oil futures were higher.
