DTN Early Word Grains 09/11 05:59 Grains Quietly Mixed Ahead of Reports December corn was fractionally lower, November soybeans were 1 cent higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was fractionally lower, November soybeans were 1 cent higher, and December Chicago wheat was 2 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: News out of China was quiet for a change, allowing global equity markets to trade mixed. The U.S. dollar index bounced back from Thursday's sell-off, putting light pressure on commodities. Additional pressure in the energy complex came from Goldman Sachs lowering its price estimate for crude oil due to larger than previously estimated supplies. Grains were quiet ahead of Friday's USDA reports, with corn contracts posting 1 cent trading ranges overnight. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 76.83 points higher Thursday at 16,330.40. DJIA futures were 37 points lower overnight. Asian markets were mixed with the Nikkei down 35.40 points at 18,264.22. China's Shanghai Composite was up 2.34 points. European markets were lower. The U.S. dollar index was up 0.096 at 95.552. Crude oil was $0.84 lower at $45.08 while Brent crude was $0.80 lower at $48.09. December gold was $3.30 lower at $1,106.00. Soybeans at China's Dalian Exchange were higher while Malaysian palm oil futures were lower.
