By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents lower, November soybeans were 5 cents lower, and December Chicago (SRW) wheat was 2 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: The grain and oilseed complex was mostly lower again early Tuesday morning. This despite a weaker U.S. dollar overnight that had the U.S. dollar index down more than 0.40. Gold was the biggest benefactor of the greenback's weakness, posting a new highest price since November 2016. DJIA futures were also posting a sharp triple-digit sell-off in reaction to North Korea firing a missile over Japan. The energy complex and softs were mostly lower, though cotton continued to show a small gain as the market deals with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 5.27 points lower at 21,808.40, the NASDAQ Composite gained 17.37 points (0.3%) to 6,283.02, and the S&P 500 added 1.19 points to 2,444.24 Monday. DJIA futures were 118 points lower early Tuesday morning. Asian markets closed mostly lower with Japan's Nikkei down 87.35 points (0.4%), Hong Kong's Hang Seng losing 98.28 points (0.3%), and China's Shanghai Composite gaining 2.57 points. European markets were posting sharp losses with London's FTSE 100 down 94.24 points (1.3%), Germany's DAX off 205.05 points (1.7%), and France's CAC 40 losing 67.25 points (1.3%). The euro gained 0.0072 to 1.2052 while the U.S. dollar index fell 0.47 to 91.73, its lowest level since January 2015. December 30-year T-Bonds were 26/32 higher at 156'11 while December gold rallied $11.10 to $1,326.40. Crude oil was $0.05 lower at $46.52 while Brent crude lost $0.38 to $51.51. China's Dalian soybean and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower overnight.
