Markets remain relatively flat through November, indicating export traders are seeking coverage on the front side of the market after recent demand. Grower selling has waned since early summer highs and subsequent move to the $5.50 level. Hard red spring markets also saw protein scales shift toward softer discounts as a result of a higher protein harvest. Weekly Sales..USDA reported a rebound in demand for U.S. wheat, as the total came in nearly 40% better than a week ago; nearly 20 mb in new sales puts year-to-date demand 2% ahead of a year ago at 444 mb. Top seller was hard red with with 10.8 mb, followed by hard red spring with 4.4 mb. Soft white garnered another 2.5 mb for the week and stands as the only class of wheat with sales ahead of a year ago with a 47% increase. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2017 DTN/Telvent.
