Nearby white wheat basis jumped a dime from late last week to 107 over, matching the high end of the recent range from mid-December. Exporter bids are now flat into April. Basis levels remained steady on the protein wheat markets. Shipments...Weekly export inspections reflected the impact of inclement weather, as shipments and loadings across U.S. ports were stifled by cold conditions. Total wheat loadings over the past week came in at just 8.6 mb, putting year-to-date shipments at 542 mb and 6% behind a year ago. Topping the list for the week was hard red winter with 4.9 mb, followed by 2.3 mb for white wheat. Hard red spring lifted only 240,000 bushels for the week. Indonesia was the top destination off the west coast with 1 mb, followed by the Philippines and Japan. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2018 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
