Deferred carries on the futures complex remain relatively large, while the cash markets show bids flat into March. Pacific Northwest crops seem to have weathered the recent cold snap relatively well; buffered by adequate moisture and not encountering severe winds. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a rebound in shipments of U.S. wheat over the past week, coming in at 13.5 mb to move year-to-date loadings to 556 mb and 6% behind a year ago. Top shipper for the week was hard red spring with 4.8 mb, followed by soft red winter and soft white at 3.1 mb each. Hard red winter registered only 1.5 mb for the week. Topping the list of destinations off the west coast was the Philippines with 4 mb, following by both Japan and South Korea taking 2 mb. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2018 DTN/Telvent.
