Spot basis on dark northern spring was also up a dime over the past week, with all markets bid flat into April. Japan will be in the market this week, seeking a total of 4.7 mb from the U.S., Canada and Australia. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed another relatively solid week of wheat shipments off U.S. ports, coming in at 16.3 mb to put the current year total at 703 mb and 7% below a year ago. Hard red winter was top shipper for the week with 8.5 mb, followed by hard red spring at 4.8 mb and soft white with 2.1 mb. Top destination off the PNW was Japan at 2.4 mb, followed by South Korea with 2.1 mb, Thailand taking 1.8 mb and both Taiwan and the Philippines near the 1.5 mb mark. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2018 DTN/Telvent.
