Support stems from recent demand along with a CCC donation tender this week on 4 mb of U.S. white wheat for Yemen, which will ship in early August. Crop Progress...Winter wheat conditions shifted amongst the three states over the past week, but gains helped offset declines to leave the overall weighted-index at 108% of average. Good to excellent ratings for Idaho saw a 4% increase to 81% but poor to very poor also gained 3%. Washington good to excellent dropped 1% to 87% while Oregon lost 3% to 58%, with the poor to very poor climbing a points to 17%. Spring wheat ratings show Washington with one of the best-rated crops in nearly 30 years at 117% of average. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed total wheat shipments off U.S. ports coming in slightly below the prior week at 12.9 mb, leaving the year-to-date total at 42 mb and half the level of a year ago. Top shipper for the week was white wheat at 4.6 mb, followed by hard red spring at 4.1 mb and hard red winter with 3.2 mb. Top destinations off the west coast were the Philippines with 3.7 mb and Indonesia with 2 mb. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2018 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
