DTN Early Word Grains 08/21 06:07 Favorable Weather Keeping Grains Under Pressure December corn was down 1 1/2 cents, November soybeans were down 1 cent, and December K.C. wheat was down 6 1/4 cents. By Todd Hultman DTN Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was down 1 1/2 cents, November soybeans were down 1 cent, and December K.C. wheat was down 6 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Most major stock markets are higher early Tuesday and commodities outside of ag are trading mostly higher. The grain sector however, is starting lower with favorable U.S. weather providing support to USDA's large crop estimates. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 89.37 points at 25,758.69 and the S&P 500 up 6.92 points at 2,857.05 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 2.82%. Early Tuesday, DJIA futures were up 42 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 20.73 (0.1%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 35.36 (1.3%). European markets are mostly higher with London's FTSE 100 down 3.58 points (-0.05%), Germany's DAX up 78.98 points (0.6%), and France's CAC 40 up 39.38 points (0.7%). The euro was up .0050 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.32 at 95.47. September 30-year T-Bonds were up 9/32nds while December gold was up $5.50 at $1,200.10 and October crude oil was down $0.03 at $65.39. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were slightly lower and Malaysian palm oil futures were down 0.6%.
