DTN Early Word Grains 08/24 06:09 Mixed Trade to End a Lower Week December corn was up 0.25 cents, November soybeans were up 1.0 cent, and December K.C. wheat was down 4.75 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was up 0.25 cents, November soybeans were up 1.0 cent, and December K.C. wheat was down 4.75 cents. CME Globex Recap: Equity markets are mixed, but mainly quiet ahead of the weekend. The short-term trend in the USD has turned lower with support from the 50-day just below the market. The USD weakness is lending support to commodities as the energy complex is firmer overnight. Grains continue to trade large supply projections, keeping the overall trends down. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 76.62 points at 25,656.98 and the S&P 500 down 4.84 points at 2,856.98 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 2.837%. Early Thursday, DJIA futures were up 6.25 points. Asian markets are mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 190.95 (0.85%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 4.81 (0.18%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 11.02 points (0.15%), Germany's DAX down 20.12 points (-0.16%), and France's CAC 40 down 1.28 points (-0.02%). The euro was up 0.00385 at 1.15940 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.2320 at 95.4080. September 30-year T-Bonds were down 9/32nds while December gold was up $4.00 at $1198.00 and October crude oil was up $0.82 at $68.65. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed down 0.51%.
