CME Globex Recap: Quiet equity markets around the globe this morning. The USD Index has closed lower in eight of the last nine sessions, although it is clinging to small gains this morning. This has been supportive to commodities in general and crude oil is up $4.00/bbl from its August lows. Grains continue to muddle along, chopping toward contract lows in row crops OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 14.38 points at 26,064.02 and the S&P 500 up 0.78 points at 2,897.52 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 2.871%. Early Wednesday, DJIA futures were unchanged. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 34.75 (0.15%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 8.69 (-0.31%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 down 67.15 points (-0.36%), Germany's DAX up 0.50 points (0.00%), and France's CAC 40 down 1.72 points (0.03%). The euro was down 0.00285 at 1.16830 and the U.S. dollar index was up 0.1430 at 94.8580. September 30-year T-Bonds were up 7/32nds while December gold was down $4.10 at $1210.30 and October crude oil was up $0.24 at $68.77. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed down 0.03%.
