DTN Early Word Grains 09/17 06:00 Mixed Markets Ahead of Harvest, Rain December corn was down 1 3/4, November soybeans were down 5, and December K.C. wheat was up 4 1/2. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was down 1 3/4, November soybeans were down 5, and December K.C. wheat was up 4 1/2. CME Globex Recap: Weaker global equity markets to begin the week as anxiety over trade reigns supreme. Grains are mixed with row crops anticipating the oncoming harvest although progress could be slow this week with moderate to heavy rainfall across the Corn Belt. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 8.68 points at 26,154.67 and the S&P 500 up 0.80 points at 2,904.98 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 3.00%. Early Monday, DJIA futures were down 4.50. Asian markets are mostly weaker with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 273.35 points (1.20%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 29.85 (-1.11%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 19.24 points (-0.26%), Germany's DAX down 44.56 points (-0.37%), and France's CAC 40 down 12.52 points (-0.23%). The euro was up 0.00250 at 1.16585 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.2040 at 94.7440. September 30-year T-Bonds were down 7/32nds while December gold was up $1.00 at $1202.10 and October crude oil was up $0.60 at $69.59. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed up 0.36% while meal was up 0.58%.
