DTN Closing Livestock Comment 07/23 16:29 Lean Hogs Close Higher While Cattle Contracts Weaken Cattle contracts head into Friday unsupported and fully lower. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: As Thursday afternoon progressed, the cattle complex endured more pressure and eventfully the feeder cattle contracts caved to closing lower alongside the live cattle contracts. Feeders are still selling exceptionally well, but the board just didn't have enough support to keep prices elevated. Hog prices are higher on the National Direct Afternoon Hog Report, up $0.62 with a weighted average of $36.01 on 10,207 head. December corn is up 3/4 cent per bushel and December soybean meal is up $3.70. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 353.51 points and NASDAQ is down 244.71 points.
