DTN Closing Livestock Comment 12/10 16:00 Cattle Contracts Keep Support Through Closing Thursday Even with boxed beef prices continuing to trade lower, both the live cattle and feeder cattle contracts were able to close higher as traders stepped back into the market. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Thursday treated the cattle contracts well, while the lean hog market closed modestly lower. Hog prices closed lower on the National Direct Afternoon Hog Report, down $0.84 with a weighted average of $54.24 on 6,074 head. March corn is down 2 1/2 cents per bushel and January soybean meal is down $1.90. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 69.55 points and NASDAQ is up 66.86 points.
