DTN Closing Livestock Comment 03/08 16:02 Livestock Contracts Keep Trader Interest Through Closing Stronger trade throughout the livestock contracts was a pleasant way to start the week. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: It was a good Monday for the livestock contracts as traders supported the futures all the way through closing. As the week trades on, the market will continue to intensely watch the cash cattle market and how the lean hog market trades. Hog prices closed higher on the National Direct Afternoon Hog Report, up $3.54 with a weighted average of $84.58 on 7,980 head. May corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel and May soybean meal is down $1.90. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 306.14 points and NASDAQ is down 310.99 points.
