DTN Closing Livestock Comment 03/10 16:09 New Variant of African Swine Fever Discovered in China As the cash cattle market leans on its fifth week of doggish cash cattle trade, the cattle contracts bowed lower to the market's pressure. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: For the cattle complex it was a tough day, but the lean hog market continues to trudge onward and forward. Hog prices closed higher on the National Direct Afternoon Hog Report, up $1.80 with a weighted average of $86.45 on 10,333 head. May corn is down 11 3/4 cents per bushel and May soybean meal is down $9.80. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 464.28 points and NASDAQ is down 4.99 points.
