DTN Closing Livestock Comment 03/12 16:14 Livestock Futures Close Mostly Higher Friday The lean hog contracts fought some resistance, but the cattle contracts were elated to close Friday's trade out higher. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Livestock enthusiasts were thankful that Friday's trade warmed up to the day and allowed for most of the contracts to close higher. Both the live cattle and feeder cattle contracts rounded out the week fully higher, but the lean hog complex closed out the week mixed. Hog prices closed lower on the National Direct Afternoon Hog Report, down $1.65 with a weighted average of $84.40 on 8,213 head. May corn is up 1/2 cent per bushel and May soybean meal is down $4.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 293.05 points and NASDAQ is down 78.81 points.
