DTN Closing Livestock Comment 06/30 16:12 Wednesday's Bullish Corn Report Sends Feeders Scampering Lower Wednesday's market was all eyes and ears on the USDA's acreage report, which unfortunately didn't offer the number of acres that feeders were hoping to see. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: The feeder cattle complex didn't fare well Wednesday, as cow-calf producers and feedlot managers alike were all hoping that more corn acres were going to surface in Wednesday's report. Nevertheless, the feeder cattle contracts closed fully lower with both the live cattle and lean hog contracts closing mostly higher. Hog prices closed higher on the National Direct Afternoon Hog Report, up $2.39 with a weighted average of $113.02 on 8,562 head. December corn is up 40 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is up $27.90. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 210.22 points and NASDAQ is down 24.39 points.
