DTN Closing Livestock Comment 07/01 16:03 Livestock Contracts Didn't Light Any Fireworks to Welcome July Heading into Friday's trade, the marketplace isn't expecting to see too much action in the livestock complex as traders head out for the Fourth of July. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: It was a slow day throughout the livestock sector as contracts traded but weren't in any hurry to do so. Friday's trade is likely to be much of the same story, with the only real wildcard being the corn market, which could trigger some reactionary trading in the feeder cattle market. Hog prices closed lower on the National Direct Afternoon Hog Report, down $4.37 with a weighted average of $108.65 on 8,584 head. December corn is up 1/2 cent per bushel and December soybean meal is up $7.00. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 131.02 points and NASDAQ is up 18.43 points.
