DTN Closing Livestock Comment 12/17 16:06 Holidays Pressured Livestock Complex Through the Week Heading into next week's trade, the livestock complex isn't expecting to see much interest as many are absorbed in the holiday festivities. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: With everyone preparing for the holidays, the livestock complex felt left behind and as if it was put on the back burner, as the week traded slow and lethargically. Hog prices closed lower on the National Direct Afternoon Hog Report, down $0.68 with a weighted average of $59.41 on 4,850 head. March corn is up 2 cents per bushel and January soybean meal is up $7.20. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 532.20 points and NASDAQ is down 10.76 points.
