DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/23 13:58 Grains Head to Christmas With Higher Closes in the Bag Thursday's trading was as quiet as one might expect on the day before Christmas Eve, but there was no doubt this was a bullish week with nearly the entire sector posting higher closes again Thursday. The leading percentage gainers for the week were March soybean meal and March KC wheat, both up 6.4% over the four-day span. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed up 3 1/4 cents and July corn was up 3 1/2 cents. January soybeans closed up 3 1/4 cents and March soybeans were up 5 3/4 cents. March KC wheat closed up 7 3/4 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 3/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was up 4 3/4 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.02 at 96.04. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 279.71 points at 36,033.60. February gold is up $7.10 at $1,809.30, March silver is up $0.09 at $22.91 and March copper is up $0.0045. February crude oil is up $0.84 at $73.60, February heating oil is up $0.0197, February RBOB gasoline is up $0.0363 and February natural gas is down $0.246.
