DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/28 13:43 Wheat Markets Tumble Again; Soybeans, Corn Correct All three major ag commodities opened higher, but only soybean meal was able to stay in the green, making a new high for the move, before closing with a modest gain. Wheat markets plummeted again, led by Kansas City, which has now plunged more than 50 cents from Monday's high. Corn fell hard as the market had become overdone. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 10 cents per bushel and May corn was down 10 1/4 cents. January soybeans closed down 3 1/4 cents and March soybeans were down 3 1/2 cents. March KC wheat closed down 25 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 20 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was down 22 3/4 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.134 at 96.220. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 86.91 points at 36,389.29. February gold is down $1.30 at $1,807.50, March silver is up $0.07 at $23.06 and March copper is down $0.0375 at $4.4345. February crude oil is up $0.39 at $75.96, February heating oil is up $0.0158, February RBOB is up $0.0172 and February natural gas is down $0.060.
