DTN Early Word Grains 12/28 05:50 Row Crops Higher, Wheat Lower Early Tuesday March corn was up 1 1/2 cents, March soybeans were up 10 1/4 cents and March KC wheat was down 8 1/2 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: March corn was up 1 1/2 cents, March soybeans were up 10 1/4 cents and March KC wheat was down 8 1/2 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are trading a little higher, along with France, Germany and Japan after the S&P 500 closed at a new all-time high Monday. Several sources reported the Center for Disease Control reduced the recommended isolation period for patients with COVID-19 from 10 days to five, provided the infected person is not showing symptoms. The new guideline adds to the notion that economies will be able to survive the latest rapid spread of the Omicron variant. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 351.82 at 36,302.38 and the S&P 500 up 65.40 at a new high of 4,791.19 as the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 1.48%. Early Tuesday, March Dow Jones futures are trading up 91 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 1.37% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.39%. European markets are mostly higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.02%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.70% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.58%. The March euro is up $0.0004 at $1.1349. The March U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.06 at 96.03. The March 30-year T-bond is down 3/32nds, while February gold is up $7.70 at $1,816.50 and February crude oil is up $0.59 at $76.16. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was down 0.3%, January soybeans were down 1.0%, May soybean meal was up 0.6% and May soybean oil was up 0.6%. March Malaysian palm oil is trading up 3.6%.
