DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/29 13:52 Wheat Halts Plunge; Corn, Soybeans Recover From Lows In quiet and two-sided trade, wheat prices recovered from a three-day swoon, while corn was a bit higher. Soybeans and meal recovered, but finished near unchanged. Minneapolis wheat finished nearly 20 cents above the morning low. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed up 3/4 cent per bushel and May corn was up 2 3/4 cents. January soybeans closed down 2 3/4 cents and March soybeans were up 3/4 cent. March KC wheat closed up 4 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 2 3/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was up 9 1/2 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.263 at 95.940. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 103.95 points at 36,502.16. February gold is down $5.50 at $1,805.40, March silver is down $0.27 at $22.86 and March copper is down $0.0205 at $4.4125. February crude oil is up $0.46 at $76.44, February heating oil is up $0.0038, February RBOB is up $0.0177 and February natural gas is down $0.041.
