DTN Closing Grain Comments 12/31 13:55 Grains Mostly Lower to Ring Out New Year March KC wheat closed down 11 1/4 cents Friday, finishing the last trading session of the year as the largest percentage loser among grain-related contracts. March soybeans bucked the bearish trend and ended up 3/4 cent with help from a modestly higher close in March soybean oil. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 2 3/4 cents and July corn was down 1 cents. March soybeans closed up 3/4 cents and July soybeans were up 1 1/2 cents. March KC wheat closed down 11 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 9 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was down 9 1/2 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.36 at 95.60. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 28.21 points at 36,426.29. February gold is up $14.70 at $1,828.80, March silver is up $0.28 at $23.34 and March copper is up $0.0640. February crude oil is down $1.91 at $75.08, February heating oil is down $0.0633, February RBOB gasoline is down $0.0679 and February natural gas is up $0.183.
