DTN Closing Grain Comments 01/06 13:53 Wheat Extends Its Bearish Start in 2022 March contracts of all three U.S. wheats closed sharply lower again Thursday, sending Chicago and KC contracts to new two-month lows. Corn hung on to the only positive gain in Thursday's grain trade, continuing to find support from concerns about dry weather in South America. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed up 1 1/2 cents and July corn was up 2 cents. March soybeans closed down 7 1/2 cents and July soybeans were down 6 1/4 cents. March KC wheat closed down 18 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 14 3/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was down 24 1/2 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.07 at 96.26. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 148.19 points at 36,258.92. February gold is down $37.60 at $1,787.50, March silver is down $1.05 at $22.12 and March copper is down $0.0560. February crude oil is up $1.43 at $79.28, February heating oil is up $0.0291, February RBOB gasoline is up $0.0105 and February natural gas is down $0.055.
