DTN Early Word Grains 01/10 05:56 Wheat, Soybeans with Minor Losses; Corn near Unchanged March corn is down 1/2 cent per bushel, March soybeans are down 3 3/4 cents, and March KC wheat is down 5 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early on Monday, Dow Jones futures are up with European markets lower and Asian markets mixed. The bond market is higher. Weather in the central U.S. is mostly clear with some light snows near the Great Lakes. Cold temperatures over the weekend will be followed by a mid-week warm-up. In South America, the forecast remains mostly hot and dry early this week in southern Brazil and Argentina, with better chance for relief next week. Grain and soy markets are quiet and a bit weaker ahead of Tuesday's CONAB estimates and Wednesday's WASDE and USDA January report. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 4.81 at 36,231.66 and the S&P 500 down 19.02 at 4,677.03 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.77.1%. Early Monday, the March DJIA futures are up 26 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei down 9.31 (-0.03%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 13.98 points (+0.39%). European markets are mostly lower with London's FTSE 100 down 1.54 points (-0.02%), Germany's DAX down 40.28 points (-0.25%) and France's CAC 40 down 13.56 points (-0.19%). The March Euro is down 0.003% at 1.13 and the March U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.173 at 95.89. The March 30-Year T-Bond is unchanged, while February gold is up 2.30 at $1,799.70 and Feb crude oil is down 0.17 at $78.75. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange were down 0.13% while soybean meal was slightly higher.
