DTN Early Word Grains 01/12 05:57 Grain, Soybeans Trend Lower Early Wednesday Ahead of WASDE Report March corn is unchanged, March soybeans are down 3 1/2 cents, and March KC wheat is down 3 3/4 cents. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: March corn is unchanged, March soybeans are down 3 1/2 cents, and March KC wheat is down 3 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early on Wednesday, Dow Jones futures are up with European and Asian markets higher. The bond market is higher. Weather in South America continues to be bullish, hot and dry in southern Brazil and Argentina before rains are expected later in the weekend. Weather in the central U.S features light snow in Minnesota, and showers in northern Iowa. We are awaiting the data-rich January USDA and WASDE reports to be released at noon Eastern time. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 183.15 at 36,252.02 and the S&P 500 up 42.78 at 4,713.07 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.748%. Early Wednesday, the March DJIA futures are up 50 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei up 543.16 (+1.92%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 29.99 points (+0.84%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 53.13 points (+0.71%), Germany's DAX up 63.98 points (+0.40%) and France's CAC 40 up 63.04 points (+0.58%). The March Euro is down some at 1.14, and the March U.S. Dollar Index is down .015 at 95.64. The March 30-Year T-Bond is unchanged, while February gold is down 1.40 at $1,817.10 and Feb crude oil is up .31 at $81.53. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange are down 0.40% and soybean meal is down 0.15%.
