DTN Early Word Grains 01/24 05:37 Grains Mixed Early Monday, Ukraine Being Watched March corn is down 1 cent per bushel, March soybeans are down 4 cents, and March KC wheat is down 3 1/2 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: March corn was down 1 1/4 cents, March soybeans were down 4 cents and March KC wheat was up 7 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Monday, Dow Jones futures are trading lower early, in line with stocks in Europe. Russian troops remain a threat near the Ukrainian border and the U.S. State Department has ordered family members at the U.S. embassy to leave Ukraine. More big earnings reports are on this week's docket and Treasury yields are being watched with the Federal Reserve expected to increase interest rates in 2022. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 450.01 at 34,265.37 and the S&P 500 down 84.79 at 4,397.94 as the 10-Year Treasury yield fell back to 1.75%. Early Monday, March Dow Jones futures are trading down 88 points. Asian markets are slightly higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.24% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.04%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.69%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 1.32% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 1.59%. The March euro is down $0.0018 at $1.1336. The March U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.14 at 95.78. The March 30-year T-bond is up 16/32nds, while February gold is up $10.40 at $1,842.20 and March crude oil is up $0.05 at $85.19. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was down 0.4%, March soybeans were up 0.7%, May soybean meal was up 0.2% and May soybean oil was up 0.9%. March Malaysian palm oil is trading down 1.2%.
