DTN Early Word Grains 02/08 06:00 World Veg Oils, Soybeans Fall with Crude; Wheat Markets Sink Again March corn is down 4 1/4 cents, March soybeans are down 11 1/4 cents, and March KC wheat is down 12 1/4 cents. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: March corn is down 4 1/4 cents, March soybeans are down 11 1/4 cents, and March KC wheat is down 12 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early on Friday, Dow Jones futures are up, with European and Asian markets higher. The bond market is higher. Crude oil futures are down nearly $2 per barrel, with veg oil markets under pressure as well. Malaysian palm oil futures for the second consecutive day fell hard. Weather for the most part still appears to be mostly bullish for the next few weeks in South America. However, markets had become very overbought following new contract highs in soybeans, meal, and new crop corn on Monday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.39 at 35,091.13 and the S&P 500 down 16.66 at 4,505.78 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.916%. Early Tuesday, the March DJIA futures are up 23 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei up 35.65(+0.13%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 23.05 points (+0.67%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 34.53 points (+0.45%), Germany's DAX up 56.09 points (+0.36%) and France's CAC 40 up 41.91 points (+0.60%). The March Euro is at 1.14, and the March U.S. Dollar Index is up .100 at 95.580. The March 30-Year T-Bond is down 6/32nds, while March gold is down 0.01 at $1,810.70 and March crude oil is down 1.78 at $89.54. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange are higher and soybean meal is also higher.
