It was a week full of agriculture news that will affect the bottom line for farmers in the upcoming growing season.

But one story you may have missed could have long-term ramifications for agriculture as well as other industries.

An Illinois-based startup company says it has completed an on-road test of a diesel engine that can be powered by straight ethanol. What's more, the founders of the company, ClearFlame Engine Technologies, tell DTN's Todd Neeley that ethanol is better for the environment than electric vehicles.

This company has funding from a lot of sources, ranging from Bill Gates to the Department of Energy. Read Todd's report to find out when customers might be able to test the company's engine technology.
