DTN Closing Grain Comments 02/14 13:45 Slightly Better Argentine Rain Chances Send Beans, Meal Down With a dearth of news to begin the new week, soybeans and meal reacted to just a slightly wetter forecast for drought-plagued Argentina, closing lower. The longer-term forecast suggests a return to hot and dry. Corn and wheat markets rallied late to finish higher, after spending much of the day in negative territory. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed up 4 3/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 3 1/2 cents. March soybeans closed down 13 cents, and November soybeans were down 1 1/2 cents. March KC wheat closed up 4 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 1 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was up 6 1/2 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.332 at 96.405. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 389.93 points at 34,348.13. April gold is up $30.40 at $1,872.50, March silver is up $0.48 at $23.85 and March copper is down $0.0230 at $4.4830. March crude oil is up $2.33 at $95.43, March heating oil is up $0.0474, March RBOB is up $0.0393 and March natural gas is up $0.256.
