DTN Closing Grain Comments 02/15 13:45 Grain, Soy Markets Plunge on Hints of Russia-Ukraine Easing Reports from major news outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg suggest Russia may be pulling back some of their forces from the Ukraine border. That sent crude oil futures spiraling lower, down close to $5 per barrel at one point, and grain futures plummeted in response. A hint of better rain chances next week for more than 50% of Argentina also weighed on markets. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 17 3/4 cents per bushel and December corn was down 8 1/2 cents. March soybeans closed down 18 3/4 cents and November soybeans were down 10 1/2 cents. March KC wheat closed down 22 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 19 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was down 19 1/2 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.341 at 96.015. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 394.69 points at 34,960.86. April gold is down $13.40 at $1,856.00, March silver is down $0.44 at $23.41 and March copper is up $0.0230 at $4.5305. March crude oil is down $3.33 at $92.13, March heating oil is down $0.1011, March RBOB is down $0.1094 and March natural gas is up $0.102.
