DTN Early Word Grains 02/25 05:51 Grains Lower Friday as Fighting in Ukraine Continues March corn was down 23 1/4 cents, March soybeans were down 43 1/2 cents and March KC wheat was down 30 1/2 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Friday, Dow Jones futures are trading lower again after mounting a late session rally on Thursday that resulted in slightly higher closes. Fighting in Ukraine continues, especially around the capital of Kyiv where Twitter says Russian tanks are rolling and fighting is described as fierce. April crude oil is trading slightly lower, near $92 while traders continue to monitor the fighting. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 92.07 at 33,223.83 and the S&P 500 up 63.20 at 4,288.70 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.97%. Early Friday, March Dow Jones futures are trading down 281 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 1.95% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.63%. European markets are a little higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 1.39%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.79% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 1.05%. The March euro is down $0.0010 at $1.1181. The March U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.03 at 97.15. The March 30-year T-bond is up 16/32nds, while April gold is down $14.00 at $1,912.30 and April crude oil is up $0.45 at $93.26. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was up 0.4%, March soybeans were up 3.2%, May soybean meal was down 0.5% and May soybean oil was up 0.5%. May Malaysian palm oil is trading down 7.3%.
