DTN Closing Grain Comments 02/28 13:43 Grains Surge Higher as Ukraine Shows Early Success Double-digit gains were common in the grain sector Monday as the Ukrainian people continue to largely hold off the Russian assault. April crude oil was also trading higher as Russia faces severe new sanctions from many nations. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 35 cents and December corn was up 27 1/2 cents. May soybeans closed up 52 1/4 cents and November soybeans were up 20 3/4 cents. May KC wheat closed up 62 cents, May Chicago wheat was up 74 1/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was up 33 3/4 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.20 at 96.82. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 514.63 points at 33,544.12. April gold is up $15.70 at $1,903.30, May silver is up $0.37 at $24.37 and May copper is down $0.0205. April crude oil is up $4.48 at $96.07, April heating oil is up $0.1330, April RBOB gasoline is up $0.0735 and April natural gas is down $0.029.
