DTN Closing Grain Comments 03/10 13:39 Soybean Meal Rises to New High; Corn Surges, Soybeans Rise on Huge Sales May soybean meal jumped to a new contract high Thursday and soybeans again challenged the $17.00 level on May, as total export sales last week (old and new crop) totaled a monstrous 3.1 mmt (114 mb). Corn export sales set a marketing year high of 2.14 mmt (84.2 mb), sending that market sharply higher, while wheat markets continued to correct, led by Chicago May. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 22 3/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 15 cents. May soybeans closed up 14 1/2 cents and November soybeans were up 18 1/2 cents. May KC wheat closed down 48 3/4 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 114 1/2 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was down 34 1/2 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.552 at 98.505. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 213.32 points at 33,072.93. April gold is up $12.00 at $2,000.20, May silver is up $0.37 at $26.19 and May copper is up $0.0655 at $4.6380. April crude oil is down $2.65 at $106.05, April heating oil is down $0.1668, April RBOB is down $0.1304 and April natural gas is up $0.095.
