DTN Closing Grain Comments 03/11 13:58 Volatile Wheat Market Recovers; Soy Sinks on Meal Reversal From High In somewhat quiet early trade, wheat had a modest bounce from recent weakness in which Chicago May had fallen as much as $3.20 per bushel from Tuesday's high. One day after setting a new high, May soy meal reversed to fall sharply, pulling bean futures with it. An early indication that Vladimir Putin saw some progress on peace talks pressured markets. Corn finished with solid gains on surging demand. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 6 3/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 3 1/2 cents. May soybeans closed down 10 1/4 cents and November soybeans were down 1 1/4 cents. May KC wheat closed up 23 1/2 cents, May Chicago wheat was up 19 1/2 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was up 15 1/4 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.596 at 99.100. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 47.49 points at 33,221.56. April gold is down $11.60 at $1,988.80, May silver is down $0.07 at $26.19 and May copper is down $0.0260 at $4.6265. April crude oil is up $3.37 at $109.39, April heating oil is up $0.1124, April RBOB is up $0.1497 and April natural gas is up $0.101.
