DTN Closing Grain Comments 03/16 13:57 Possibilities For Rain, Peace Send Wheat Prices Limit Down May contracts of all three U.S. wheats closed limit down Wednesday, pressured by rain in the forecast for the southwestern U.S. Plains and by the possibility for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. Corn and soybeans were also lower in a session that heard news from the Federal Reserve of the first interest rate increase since 2018. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed down 28 cents and December corn was down 21 1/2 cents. May soybeans closed down 9 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 6 3/4 cents. May KC wheat closed down 85 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 85 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was down 60 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.05 at 99.02. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 8.50 points at 33,535.84. April gold is down $26.90 at $1,902.80, May silver is down $0.45 at $24.71 and May copper is up $0.0695. April crude oil is down $1.09 at $95.35, April heating oil is up $0.0689, April RBOB gasoline is up $0.0017 and April natural gas is up $0.197.
