DTN Closing Grain Comments 03/17 14:00 Corn Leads Grains Higher; War-Related Volatility Continues In line with St. Patrick's Day, most of the grain-related quotes on Thursday's futures board were as green as the Chicago River. Continuous fighting in Ukraine and nonstop reports of Russians shelling civilians add to concerns that it will be very difficult for the country to produce any exportable crops in 2022. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 24 1/2 cents and December corn was up 15 1/4 cents. May soybeans closed up 19 1/4 cents and November soybeans were up 9 cents. May KC wheat closed up 19 3/4 cents, May Chicago wheat was up 28 3/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was up 28 3/4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.73 at 97.89. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 263.60 points at 34,326.70. April gold is up $31.00 at $1,940.20, May silver is up $0.76 at $25.47 and May copper is up $0.1080. April crude oil is up $7.84 at $102.88, April heating oil is up $0.3625, April RBOB gasoline is up $0.2214 and April natural gas is up $0.220.
