DTN Early Word Grains 03/22 05:52 Wheat Pushes Higher as Russia Remains Confounded May corn was down 1/4 cent, May soybeans were up 10 1/2 cents and May KC wheat was up 35 1/4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: May corn was down 1/4 cent, May soybeans were up 10 1/2 cents and May KC wheat was up 35 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are trading modestly higher along with stocks in Asia and Europe. Russia's relentless attacks on Ukrainian cities continues to be confounded by Ukrainian resistance and their refusal to surrender the southern port city of Mariupol. Meanwhile Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said the pace of rate hikes could quicken and will continue until inflation is under control. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 201.94 at 34,552.99 and the S&P 500 down 1.94 at 4,461.18 as the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 2.31%, the highest in over two years. Early Tuesday, June Dow Jones futures are trading up 171 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 1.48% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.19%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.47%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.89% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.95%. The June euro is down $0.0005 at $1.1045. The June U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.10 at 98.60. The June 30-year T-bond is down 20/32nds, while June gold is down $4.90 at $1,924.60 and May crude oil is down $1.20 at $108.77. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was up 0.5%, May soybeans were up 1.9%, May soybean meal was up 2.2% and May soybean oil was up 0.6%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 3.2%.
