DTN Closing Grain Comments 03/23 13:43 Soybean Complex Finishes Strong; New Highs in December Corn, July Meal The wheat markets continued to exhibit huge volatility, giving up early gains for the second straight day. Soybeans were very firm and solidly above $17 for the first time in over a month, finishing above $17 for the first time in years. Soybean meal set a new high in July and bean oil was sharply higher on the heels of a $5 gain in crude oil futures. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 4 3/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 2 1/4 cents. May soybeans closed up 22 1/4 cents and November soybeans were up 10 cents. May KC wheat closed down 5 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 12 1/2 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was down 7 1/4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.082 at 98.605. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 333.70 points at 34,473.76. April gold is up $16.80 at $1,938.30, May silver is up $0.32 at $25.22 and May copper is up $0.0780 at $4.7780. May crude oil is up $5.71 at $114.98, May heating oil is up $0.2170, May RBOB is up $0.1154 and April natural gas is up $0.042.
