DTN Early Word Grains 03/23 05:57 Grains Mostly Higher, Destructive Russia-Ukraine Stalemate Continues May corn was up 3 cents, May soybeans were up 12 3/4 cents and May KC wheat was up 13 3/4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: May corn was up 3 cents, May soybeans were up 12 3/4 cents and May KC wheat was up 13 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Wednesday, Dow Jones futures are trading a little lower, after reaching its highest level in March on Tuesday. European and Asian markets are starting the day on higher notes. Russian forces are reported to be pressing in on the southern port city of Mariupol, but progress remains slow. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 254.47 at 34,807.46 and the S&P 500 up 50.43 at 4,511.61 as the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 2.37%, the highest in over two years. Early Wednesday, June Dow Jones futures are trading down 99 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 3.00% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.34%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.70%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.40% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.16%. The June euro is down $0.0010 at $1.1046. The June U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.10 at 98.62. The June 30-year T-bond is down 1/32nd, while June gold is up $5.50 at $1,927.0 and May crude oil is up $2.30 at $111.57. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was up 0.1%, May soybeans were up 0.2%, May soybean meal was up 0.6% and May soybean oil was down 0.7%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 3.1%.
