DTN Closing Grain Comments 03/24 13:56 Grain, Soybeans Correct as US, NATO, EU Leaders Meet on War There is nothing new regarding the Russia-Ukraine battle, but President Biden and EU leaders are meeting with leaders of NATO countries in Brussels to discuss additional sanctions against Russia to cease fighting. That cast a bit of a bearish tone over grain and soy markets on Thursday, which were also pressured by weak export sales last week. Crude oil futures moved lower again, weakening veg oils. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed down 9 1/2 cents per bushel and December corn was down 4 3/4 cents. May soybeans closed down 18 cents and November soybeans were down 15 cents. May KC wheat closed down 16 1/2 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 20 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was down 5 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.270 at 98.885. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 240.93 points at 34,599.43. April gold is up $26.10 at $1,963.40, May silver is up $0.67 at $25.86 and May copper is down $0.0555 at $4.7210. May crude oil is down $2.71 at $112.22, May heating oil is down $0.0176, May RBOB is down $0.0542 and April natural gas is up $0.166.
