DTN Closing Grain Comments 03/28 14:06 Wheat, Soybeans Fall Back Monday as War Strategy Shifts May contracts of winter wheat led Monday's grain sector lower after a Russian official said forces were being consolidated in eastern Ukraine. May soybeans were also down sharply, related to Monday's drop in crude oil prices and news that China was enforcing a two-phase lockdown in Shanghai due to rising cases of COVID-19. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed down 5 1/2 cents and December corn was down 4 1/2 cents. May soybeans closed down 46 cents and November soybeans were down 28 cents. May KC wheat closed down 40 1/4 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 45 1/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was down 24 3/4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.33 at 99.16. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 130.80 points at 34,730.44. June gold is down $21.60 at $1,932.60, May silver is down $0.49 at $25.13 and May copper is up $0.0260. May crude oil is down $7.95 at $105.95, May heating oil is down $0.2963, May RBOB gasoline is down $0.2408 and May natural gas is down $0.069.
