DTN Closing Grain Comments 03/29 13:54 Markets Respond to Russian Promise to Pull Back Russian missiles are still being fired, but according to several media sources, Russia promised to pull back operations from Ukraine's capital city of Kyiv and another northern city as a gesture of furthering peace talks with Ukraine. Grains closed sharply lower, led by losses in winter wheat. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed down 22 1/4 cents and December corn was down 11 3/4 cents. May soybeans closed down 21 1/4 cents and November soybeans were down 20 1/4 cents. May KC wheat closed down 46 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 42 3/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was down 36 1/2 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.51 at 98.55. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 180.07 points at 35,135.96. June gold is down $23.80 at $1,916.0, May silver is down $0.30 at $24.90 and May copper is up $0.0145. May crude oil is down $1.06 at $104.90, May heating oil is down $0.0382, May RBOB gasoline is up $0.0051 and May natural gas is down $0.165.
