Club wheat premiums have also seen a decline the past few weeks, as fresh export demand for all wheats has been limited. Weekly Sales...For the third straight week, USDA reported a subdued pace of export demand for U.S. wheat with total sales of only 3.5 mb for the week. This puts year-to-date commitments at 698 mb, which stands 24% behind both a year ago and the five-year average pace. Hard red spring garnered 2 mb in new business, putting sales 30% behind a year ago and 27% below average at 192 mb. Both hard red winter and white wheat sales were below a million bushels. Planting Intentions...All wheat plantings for the PNW are expected to be up about 1.5% this year, coming mostly on increased acreage committed to winter wheat. Idaho winter wheat plantings are expected to be up 11% with spring acres down 8%, while Washington intends to see winter acres up 6% and spring plantings down 16%. Oregon wheat acreage is unchanged. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2022 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
