DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/01 14:15 No April Fools, Meal Drags Soybeans Lower May soybean meal closed down $17.50, the largest percentage loss in Friday's grain sector after an Energy Department report showed another month of aggressive expansion of soybean oil use for renewable diesel. May contracts of corn and all three U.S. wheat markets also finished lower Friday and for the week. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed down 13 3/4 cents and December corn was up 4 1/4 cents. May soybeans closed down 35 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 13 3/4 cents. May KC wheat closed down 16 3/4 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 21 1/2 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was down 14 1/4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.23 at 98.59. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 73.49 points at 34,751.84. June gold is down $26.30 at $1,927.70, May silver is down $0.39 at $24.74 and May copper is down $0.0520. May crude oil is down $0.95 at $99.33, May heating oil is up $0.0575, May RBOB gasoline is down $0.0009 and May natural gas is up $0.079.
