DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/05 13:50 Wheat Again Leads Markets Higher on Poor Condition Report, Weather Grain and soy markets rose for the second straight day, once again led by wheat. Both Kansas City and Chicago wheat markets gapped higher early Tuesday, reflecting worsening wheat conditions and a two-week forecast that promises little relief for hard winter areas suffering from expanding drought. Corn and soybeans are again higher, reflecting improving demand and dryness in Brazil and Argentina. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 9 1/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 7 1/2 cents. May soybeans closed up 28 3/4 cents and November soybeans were up 16 cents. May KC wheat closed up 45 cents, May Chicago wheat was up 35 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was up 29 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.396 at 99.370. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 132.11 points at 34,789.77. June gold is down $9.20 at $1,924.80, May silver is down $0.17 at $24.43 and May copper is down $0.0085 at $4.7730. May crude oil is down $1.09 at $102.19, May heating oil is down $0.0756, May RBOB is down $0.0296 and May natural gas is up $0.325.
